Two SKDP students, Brooke Dapremont and Perryion Landry attended the March For Life Rally in Washington, DC. They attended as representatives of the Archdiocese's Youth Peacemaker's League. The students got a chance to visit other sites in Washington including St. Peter's Basilica and the Holocaust Museum.

On Saturday, January 6, 2018 the SKDP Track and Field Team participated in the LSU Track Classic. Outstanding performances included: 4x200 Meter Relay- 1st place in our heat. Relay runners included: Sanaa Morris, Alia Armstrong, Tigress Samuel, and Kayli Johnson 800 Meter Run- 2nd place in our heat- Silk Banks 4x400 Meter Relay- 2nd place in our heat- Relay runners included: Armstrong, Samuel, Banks, and Tamara Guy 60 Meter dash- 2nd place overall- Alia Armstrong 60 Meter Hurdles- 1st place overall- Alia Armstrong Alia Armstrong also won the LSU Track Classic Most Outstanding Track Athlete award. Currently Alia Armstrong is ranked #8 in the United States in the 60 meter dash and #8 in the country in the 60 meter hurdles in the United States
