Bishop Cheri Mass

The   students, faculty, and staff   of Saint Katharine Drexel   Prep participated in our first Lenten service of Mass officiated by Archdiocese of New Orleans’ Auxiliary Bishop Fernand Cheri.  Bishop Cheri is from the Franciscan order and is Episcopal   Moderator for the Catholic Campus Ministry Association. Mass readers   consisted of the   9 ^th grade class of 2022.   Several visitors attended the Mass including Dad’s Club President, Sean Robinson   and several   Xavier Prep alumni including Saint Katharine Drexel Prep board president Judge Piper Griffin. 
Bishop Cheri   gave a rousing homily on the observance of the holy season of Lent. He stressed the importance focusing   on prayer, sacrifice and alms giving.  A brief reception was held following the service.
