Dr. Angelique Thomas joined Agenda for Children in 2021 and has dedicated more than 13 years to advocating for young children and their families. Her career spans roles as a classroom teacher, center administrator, Child Care Resource & Referral manager in one of Georgia’s largest counties, and a leader supporting the opening of childcare centers in high-demand areas of Atlanta.
Upon returning home, she led early childhood enrollment and access efforts as Director of Early Childhood Opportunities for NOLA Public Schools. Dr. Thomas currently leads the work of the Early Childhood Education Millage in Orleans Parish, ensuring sustainable investment in young learners. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a master’s in Educational Leadership, and a doctorate in Education from Clark Atlanta University.
A proud Xavier Prep alumna, she remains deeply connected to the Prep community and legacy, which continues through her niece at Drexel Prep. Dr. Thomas has also spoken at Harvard University and serves on initiatives including the CBNOLA board and ThriveKids with Manning Family Children’s Hospital.
